Review: Excellent headphones on a budget, perfect for non-audiophiles - Bought these as I was looking for a good pair of headphones to couple with a mod mic setup I was looking in to. I am not an audiophile by any means so super high quality wasn't what i was looking for. The key was comfort and durability. The build of the headphones themselves are very solid and sturdy, no part feels like it's about to "break off" or snap suddenly if a stiff breeze comes over it.The headband which rests on the top of your head is comfortable and secure without applying painful or discomforting amounts of pressure. So it doesn't hurt with extended sessions (10 hours+) or leave that classic "Headphone" look at the top of your head. The noise cancelling is superb, it takes out most background noise when I am listening to music or watching something, but I can still know when someone is trying to get my attention in the house. The cable and jack (Standard 3.5mm Jack) is also sturdy and well made. There have been no issues with the sleeve for the wire or the house for the jack itself. After a year of constant use (and being rolled over by my chair) the wire and sleeve are still perfect and I have no issues with it. The Jack itself is also in perfect condition despite several trip incidents pulling it from the Jack slot of my PC as well as pulling it out and placing in back in when I change machines. That being said, that is the one downside (Or positive depending on how your situation is) - The cable for this headphone set is *quite* long - so for those at a desktop quite close to their setup, you will end up running over the cable and sometimes tripping over it ripping it from the connection slot on the PC. I would highly advise cable mangement or consideration of where you thread your cable to avoid this. Since the long cable issue can be easily avoided and not that much of a con, it doesn't merit reducing the 5* review for this. Overall Pros - Comfortable for many many hours. - Solid build quality with no issues after almost a year of use and abuse. - Easy to attach a Mod Mic setup due to the design of the headphones. - Long cable with good sleeving can reach all but the stupidest of places and will survive the classic chair rollover and trip Cons - Super long cable that without management or good location can cause chair rollover or tripping
Review: Overall Amazing Headphones , Just Buy Them If you care about sound and nothing else - These are my first budget headphones studio monitors and my first monitor headphones ever bought , I also own the akg n700nc and sony wf-1000xm3 , I am an young audiophile that loves and values sound quality , overall these headphones are amazing , let me start with lows ( a.k.a bass and bass presence ) the lows are fantastic at this price , the overall bass response is on par with most hifi headphones, they beat all other budget headphones when it comes to bass quality , if you want even clearer bass ( cut the low-mid ( 60-100 hz ) by -2 db and low-high ( 100-150 hz ) by -2 db ) , the mids are very good as well they outperform most budget headphones and they're on par with much more expensive hifi headphones , the mid lows are very balanced , the mid-mids are a bit underemphasized by -1 db and mid-higs are overemphasized by 1db , but overall the details and voices are very clear and crisp , if you want clearer details and even more voice details ( boost the mid-mid ( 500-1000 hz ) by 1 db , and cut the hig-mid ( 1000-2000 hz , by 1 db ) overall amazing mids performance , treble ( highs ) are decent for this price , they don't beat the big sony and bose but is good enough for most people , the overall treble is overemphasized by 6db that makes the sound too bright , making the sound too loud and affecting the mids ( detailing ) and lows ( bass ) , you can try to repair the treble by ( cutting the mid treble by 6 db , cutting the low treble by 1 db and boosting the high treble by 1 db ) you can even get a rumble effect if you do this eq , overall if you're an audiophile like me and you eq the treble you can say that this headphones are out there with the best headphones on the market , overall compared to my akg n700nc headphones these budget cans are much clearer when it comes to overall performance ( considering you eq-ed them ) , compared to my earbuds sony wf-1000xm3 , is not really a comparison because earbuds are earbuds and headphones are headphones but I can say that these budget cans are much balanced overall than the sony's , the last thing to test is Soundstage, overall the Soundstage of these headphones is amazing but not perfect , these headphones are semi-open and they manage the Soundstage very well compared to a lot of full open headphones , the PRTF Accuracy is very good compared even to the sennheiser hd 800s that are thousands more expensive , the acoustic excitation is decent and the openness is amazing , if you value Soundstage and you're on budget these headphones are for you , if you want perfect Soundstage get the senheisser hd 800s , overall these headphones truly impressed me , they achieved as much as other high end headphones achieved at sound , aesthetics and comfort are not the main selling point but they're good for most people , but when it comes to sound these can achieve almost perfection and they're out there with the best , truly recommend them 9/10 , an amazing purchase

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are these headphones comparable with iPhone 5S?**
A: The best iPhone 5S headphones are Monoprice 8323 you can get them on here for $30 and you'll be blown away by how amazing they sounds! And go ahead read reviews it is 5 stars from over 800 reviews! I own two pairs after I got one for my daughter and I just had to get one for my self they are this good

**Q: How do these compare against Grado SR-60i?**
A: I briefly had the SR-60 and currently own the 681.
The SR-60 are technically impressive headphones that are unbelievably detailed. The sparkle on those is something I've never heard before and they were beautiful. However, I found that I personally favored something with a little bit less high and a little bit more balanced low-end. Look at frequency response curves for both headphones to see what I mean.
The 681s have a really nice low end that doesn't flood, you can hear things distinct and clear, but just the overall sound was so...nice! Like, I just love listening to them, everything was balanced and beautiful but nothing needed tweaking. They shine with all types of music and are comfortable for hours as well. Yes, they don't match the detail of the SR-60s, but they're 95% of the way there, and are so well balanced elsewhere.

**Q: Does it have a detachable cable? I.e. in case the wire breaks, can I replace it with a regular 3.5 mm cable?**
A: No. There is no detachable cable, it's all one piece from the. Headphones to the plug.

**Q: Are these noise cancelling?**
A: No they are not noise cancelling but the ear pieces are big enough to cover your whole ear which makes them almost as good as noise cancelling,, for the price you pay, you cannot beat these for sound quality.. I was a sound engineer with 2 24 track studioes for 17 years and I know headsets and these are excellent.. in my personal opinion, these headsets are just as good as the Bose noise cancelling headsets which I also have..

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bargain basement in price alone.
*by J***N on 4 July 2012*

Over the years I've owned countless pairs of headphones. Open back, closed back, "professional", "home use", and pretty much every other classification manufacturers try to throw at them. I came across these headphones whilst searching for a new pair after my toddler son decided to test the tensile strength of my previous pair by stamping on them. The reviews for Superlux headphones tend to be good - Superlux seem to have the same approach to R&D as Behringer do (a photocopier), but where Behringer cut corners, and ensure low quality, Superlux don't. Granted the earphone pads are unquestionably PVC (no faux leather here!), but the cable is chunky, comes with a screw on 6.3 adaptor, and the whole package seems to have been built to last. So the package is well made, how do the headphones sound? Surprisingly good! The "F" Descriptor means it is weighted towards mids and highs (The model with the B at the end is weighted towards Base) , so don't expect them to pump out loads of bass. Instead, they have a really natural, open sound; great for classical and Jazz, less great for Dance. As long as you bear the limitations of these headphones in mind, you shouldn't be disappointed with your purchase.
