The problem is that it is advertised as having a back up battery. However, the fountain is only powered by the battery, not by the solar cell. So, the unit charges the battery, which runs the fountain. When the battery is drained, it stops running. In our garden, in bright sunshine, the unit turns off and on about 4 times a day.
