Review: Fantastic read - This is not my first book by Diana Licalzi. I have followed her for years on social media and love her content. That brought me to but her books. Her previous books have become "go to" presents for me. As a matter of fact, anyone who got "Drinking for Two" will now get this book. I find her recipe selection thoughtful and truly concerned not only with nutritional value but taste and a true enjoyable eating experience. As I was flipping through, I found myself interested in the recipes for my own. But what I found particularly insightful are the sections at the beginning of the book taking the reader through the journey of pregnancy and its effects on the mother's body. It then goes into postpartum, breastfeeding and the effects that nutrition can have enhancing recuperation and milk production. It actually breaks down the function several minerals, vitamins and components have in regenerating the postpartum body. The recipes are easy to follow and offer practical options, like freezer meals. This is the perfect book for a new mother, worried about the welfare of her new baby, and too preoccupied to care about herself. This book will make it easy and guarantee a healthy comeback for mom. I highly recommend it.

This cookbook has that and more! It also helps that it includes beautiful photos of the finished meals! As a new mom (with a 2-month old) who is ready to get back into the kitchen and begin preparing her own meals again, it’s important that the meals are easy to prepare and nourishing for my postpartum body. Knowing that the authors are registered dietitian nutritionists (and, as a bonus, are also mothers to little ones) gives me comfort as I make and eat these meals, particularly as a breastfeeding mom. Lastly, knowing that this book was reviewed by an OBGYN and includes helpful postpartum guidance was the icing on the cake for me! If you’re pregnant, postpartum, have young kids, or simply want to make easy, nutritious, and delicious meals, get this cookbook! Or gift it to a loved one. I’m excited to try all these recipes!

This is not my first book by Diana Licalzi. I have followed her for years on social media and love her content. That brought me to but her books. Her previous books have become "go to" presents for me. As a matter of fact, anyone who got "Drinking for Two" will now get this book. This cookbook not only provides delicious and healing recipes, but it also provides a wealth of valuable information for postpartum moms! To be honest, these recipes are so good that everyone would benefit from having this cookbook on hand - postpartum or not. This would also make a great baby shower gift!! I wish I had had these recipes to meal prep before giving birth, and I will certainly be using it weekly going forward to meal prep for myself and my family! Thank you Diana and Ashley for creating this amazing cookbook - there was such a need for something like this!!!!
