When I first unboxed them, I realized how thin that they really are. For some reason I was picturing these being much thicker but I'm actually glad that they are this thin. They are true to the size, 12x12 inches, and are not super soft but you can press down on them a little. The install was easy thanks to the back adhesive on each square. Make sure you align the brick pattern up properly for a clean look. You can also cut them to size as needed. For me I wanted the bricks to stop exactly when my desk stops, so i had to cut a piece that was 3.25 inches long, and you can't even tell. From a small distance, it looks like this entire wall is one piece. I loved these so much, I'm going to order some more for the other wall. The soundproofing of them does help a little when gaming, I like how deep the sound of playing games is now.
