She wanted to visit friends, go to outings, etc. but she had to travel with wheelchair. This allowed her to comfortably elevate feet/ legs and she was able to tolerate more time out of bed which was her goal for the time she had. If these are too expensive, I was a niece in this case but I am also an RN so I can no help but to think of ways for people to have these. You could use any inflatable toy, float. Camping pillow, check fit and height. Cover with a soft material of your choice.
