After a few pumps the liquid begins to appear. It probably takes a couple of applications before you get the right amount for your bear length. Idea is to get enough to coat the bear, but not too much and first application I went to sparingly and second too much. You'll see other reviews talk about a clinical type of smell which is correct, but it's not overbearing (for me), however, if you are looking for a lotion/moisturiser that has a perfumed aroma this is NOT the product for you. However, if you want a product that coats your beard leaving in great condition and helping the skin underneath then this is a great choice. I'm not about 4 days in using the product and genuinely see a difference, less straggly hairs and feels more conditioned. For the price some may want all the features plus a perfumed aroma which is fair, however, for me I still use an eau de toilette and the clinical smell only last for a few minutes before it dissipates.
