I do have the additional lucky factor of having had relatively oily skin for most of my life; but it is still very clear to me how much more gentle Dove soap is than any other, when I'm caught somewhere while traveling without access to my Dove soap, and I have to use whatever is at hand. When that happens, it feels as though my face is going to crack into pieces and crumble off. Dove soap, on the other hand, cleans VERY THOROUGHLY but VERY GENTLY.
