Others we have had aren't nearly as soft, with round openings that are too small and cushions that are too hard and stiff. This pillow, however, has memory foam and is soft and comfortable for my dad to use, and the adjustable opening in the center takes pressure off where needed. He currently uses this pillow when sitting on the couch, but he also uses it in his wheelchair and in the car too, and it's easy to transport.
