I originally purchased to help improve the early stages of my hand eczema and to possibly help the hair along my hairline to regrow in thicker, thinning due to stress, medical reasons, etc. I use it to thicken my eyebrows, even lightly apply it in combination with African Shea Butter to thicken and lengthen my eye lashes. How do I know it's working? I had been applying this to my entire body in the first month of receiving it (for re-hydrating my skin), and without realizing what I had really been doing, I noticed hair growing way thicker, and much faster than usual in places I hadn't intended. When I was shaving and plucking twice as often, I realized I had gotten just what I hoped when I purchased this Castor Oil. The fact I don't need to use other products in combination to get the results I seek is what has blown my mind. A little goes a long way. It is thick (which I expected from a carrier oil), but not icky; it's clear, and has no scent. I was using many store bought products that were triggering eczema, thinning hair, and adult acne for the first time in my life. I now use Organic Castor Oil By Hotmir as the carrier oil it is to enhance other organic products (i.e. African Shea Butter & Coconut Oil to make DIY deep conditioner, even combine it with essential oils as massage oil), replacing %80 of the triggering products I was so blind in using. So I am mixing this with other organic oils like coconut, olive, jojoba, alba and biotin. I've been using it as follows: I mix my oils together in a little bowl, dip my fingers in and massage my scalp while pulling it all down into my ends. Then I do a shower cap, with a hot towel wrapped over the cap and watch a movie. I'll lose the cap and towel then, yep, I leave it on overnight. I sleep on one of my older 'who-cares' pillowcases. Wash with a mixture of conditioner and shampoo in the morning, then do a straight conditioner. Air dry. I've done 5-6 treatments over a period of two weeks and am seeing a half an inch of growth. In TWO WEEKS. I'm growing out a pixie so growth is very evident. You know when a pixie cut is significantly longer. Very excited! I also use JUST this (the castor oil) on an old clean mascara brush and do my lashes and brows every night. Results? Longer darker lashes that shine? And my eyebrows are filling in on one side where I thought they would never ever grow again. Oh! To add --the condition of my hair has improved greatly. It was dull. Sort of coarse? My lashes grew back very quickly once I began using this product. I haven't experienced the significant lash growth that most other reviewers have, but my lashes did return to their normal length after a couple weeks of use.I've also been using this on my skin every night, which is where I have experienced the most benefit. I apply a thin layer on my forehead, eye area, lips, and chin.
