They would have been down below my waist without modifications. I just removed the intermediate straps so the front buckles hook directly to the neoprene portion. After that they fit perfect.I used these for about 10 days in Alaska and they were pretty much flawless. The last day I knelt down on something and made a pin sized hole over the left knee. It was pretty easy to fix once I got back home. Other than that I was kept totally dry and comfortable.I'm 6' tall (+ or - an inch depending on time of day) with size 12 feet.
