This radio uses the Icom RS-Aero app and Bluetooth to communicate. You can plan your own routes in their app but no connectivity with anything even google or Apple Maps. Great radio but stand alone unit. Bluetooth will work with your ipad and headset though if it is equipped. Nice for back up without fumbling for cords but you do need to turn on Bluetooth from the radio. **Q: Is there a fee for the vor or gps?** A: No fee **Q: Is this aprs capable without a tnc or computer?** A: Yes this is self contained two-way VHF radio with navigation capability **Q: Is there DME capability?** A: No, but has GPS.
