A: What are you using the battery in??? the unit (whatever you are using) should charge the battery automatically. Such as an APC Backup Battery Unit will charge it. I have them in Battery Booster for jumping cars...the Booster gets plugged into a 110V outlet that charges 2 batteries. 
If you don't have a unit that will charge it, go out a buy a small 12v battery charger!

**Q: How long does this battery last in a home alarm system?**
A: The answer rather depends on what your alarm system's power requirements are. With two 7Ah batteries (in parallel), my DSC system will run 2-3 days.
