I am able to seamlessly switch between laptop sounds and a phone call. Sound quality is good with no difference to directly to my laptop. My microphone works properly sending audio into my laptop or phone. One small downside is my laptop's sound is reduced once my phone is plugged in, I can easily overcome this by turning my laptop volume up a little higher. There is a slight buzzing sound when no sound input is playing but this is a non issue for me. You need to get a trs 3.5 female to trs 3.5 male cable, basically an aux extender, this way your other device will not interfere with the voice transmission which would end up sounding like a high pitched popping and squelling noise without the trs cable extender.
