It's a decent quality hook. It could use a little more shaping for your hand, and there are two bubbles in the varnish at the fancy end of the hook that I do not love.Varnished wooden hooks just aren't for me. I prefer enameled metal hooks. Plus I have to say when I do need a wooden hook (for the really big sizes), I prefer a softer feel to wood rather than a glossy feel. Glossy doesn't slide as well as soft.Update: My cat likes to chew on this...

This is a lovely hook. Appears to be of great quality. Then why only four stars? Because the packaging is disgusting. Wish I could upload the picture I took. It looks like someone spilt something all over the plastic packaging and just waited for it to dry and shipped it anyways! Had to clean it before I could take it out to view the hook itself!That disturbs me.

I am using this on super bulky yarn. It works.
