I bought several for my girls, myself and my aunt. My aunt and I battled with sun damaged skin and skin cancer on our faces. Sun hats are a must for our family. The problem is that hats can be hot and fly off on boats or on the beach. Not these. They’re UPF, swimsuit material so they’re light and dry quickly. The best part is the brim has some cool way to make the hat stay put! We brought ours to Jamaica where it’s quite windy. Our hats stayed on. Oh, and another note: as my husband tossed my 6 year old into the pool, most of the time her hat stayed on! Let me start by saying I was skeptical when it arrived. I almost sent it back and thank goodness I didn't. It felt too lightweight and not stiff enough for a "hat." But that's it's secret, OMG! This hat is amazing, the lightweight design counteracts the heaviness of the water when wet so there is no brim droop, it holds fast to the head without feeling tight, and you forget that you're wearing it. I swam in surf, dived, jumped into pools, and even snorkled in this bad boy. Two weeks of swimming it came off twice in the surf but there it was 2 feet away it bobbing on the surface. No sun burn, no reddness, no pain and looks like I just pulled it out the package. Easily the best purchase for my vacation and now I'm gardening with it -LOVE it. Wish I could have passed them out to every child on the beach.
