I used to purchase a new copy every two or three years but now will be forced to pay a subscription fee every year (for just a checkbook register). I unwittingly downloaded the 2018 version because I was being pelted with popups to purchase it. I didn't do my homework and found that I was caught into a subscription service.It won't happen again and Quicken has taken the only annual fee they will get. If you purchase this from Amazon, it turns out that there is no way to upgrade it to a version of Quicken that lets you track investments. Lesson learned - don't buy software through Amazon because it appears that there is no way to get a refund or to upgrade a product to a useful version.
