I have cut very thin slices of cucumber. The thickness is changed with a leaver so that it cuts from very thin to about 10mm. This is a really solid item and will last. **Q: Please confirm which blades are supplied with this model** A: The BR001 comes with a pre-fitted slicing blade that can be replaced, as well as a 'crinkle' blade and two julienne blades. I haven't investigated but suspect that the 'crinkle' blade can't be replaced.It's very well built and is bigger than I expected but really is a professional tool. **Q: Is this the Original Heavy Duty "Bron Mandoline" with stainless steel pusher, 38 blades? Just want to make sure it is a "full option".** A: The pusher is stainless steel. It does not have 38 blades though you can purchase optional extra blades. Mine came with 10mm & 3mm julienne blades, straight cutter and crinkle cutter. Practice is needed and watch out for the very sharp blades. I use mine frequently and enjoy it. A joy to use ### ⭐⭐ Everything 5* apart from Julienne blade - such a shame *by S***N on 26 September 2014* Thought this was the answer to my prayers. . . tried various different brands and eventually bit the bullet on the cost of this one. Was initially very pleased, it's fabulously sturdy, really is built to last. Played about cutting some simple slices and it was like a knife through butter. Not as easy to clean as some others but I think that helps with it feeling so sturdy so could have definitely lived with that. This afternoon I went to have a play about with the julienne slicers, unfortunately they struggled with carrots and just turned my onion to mush, such a pity. Also, the guard doesn't work with the crinkle blade - so that's rendered useless unless I spend more money on another guard or a glove (I'd have thought for the price you'd be able to use the whole device safely!). Sad to say returning for a refund.
