All of the reviews made me nervous it would Not lay flat, however I layer a few books on it overnight and it was perfectly flat and had no wrinkles at all. The only downfall is how to attach it to your desk, I would recommend reading the other reviews where someone gives detailed instructions on using spray adhesive. I used double sided tape and not the best decision.
