My rabbit is 5.5 lbs, and I gave him 1/4 cup. **Q: How does this compare to the Free Choice pellets? I compared the ingredients and they are exactly the same.** A: There are two adult timothy foods and yes the formulas are the same with the difference simply being that the blue bag of free choice is diluted down with a lot more timothy hay to allow it some flexibility. Which would be best may depend on you and your rabbit's habits. The concentrated pellet in the green bag is very dense nutrition and should be fed in very small measured amounts based upon weight making it great for rabbits who eat a lot of hay. A rabbit below 6lbs for example will get only 1/8 cup per day. The free choice timothy pellet in the blue bag is more flexible in that it can be fed at a minimum of 1 TBS per pound, fed freely or anywhere in between. This food is basically the same formula as the other but diluted down with a lot more timothy hay so that they can eat more of it which makes it great for rabbits who may not be good hay eaters, for pairs or groups where monitoring their intake is tough or even for people who love to be able to feed a bit extra. **Q: Free choice** A: This is not a free choice pellet but they do have an option for that. Check the Sherwood Website directly to view all products and recommendations. **Q: Why has this product been "currently unavailable" for so many months??? Where else can I buy this?!** A: Sherwood was starting up a new factory and had closed an old one, so their capacity was very low. I’m in a rabbit group on Facebook and even the rabbit experts agree this is the top notch food to feed your bunny! It’s an excellent value for money, although I wish it was cheaper, but you pay for quality so I get it. The size of the pellets are just right for a rabbit to eat. We’ve had no issues with choking. My rabbits get very excited to see the pellets and it’s part of their daily routine. I have two bunnies and I feed them 2 tablespoons in the morning and 2 tablespoons in the evening and the bag lasts one month for two rabbits with that serving. I had an auto subscription for every two months, but that was not enough. I find that I do need to order it every single month even with just using 4 TBS per day. Can’t recommend this product enough! Anything by Sherwood I trust way more than oxbow. Hope you enjoy my rabbit video of how excited they get over their Sherwood pellets! They binky and zoom in excitement when I shake the pellet jar (I store them in a tall glass jar) and then I spread them out on a foraging mat. They didn’t binky over the oxbow pellets before. I love that there’s no unnecessary awful ingredients in these like soy or sugar or molasses.
