These pants have plenty of pockets. Two slash pockets with zippers in front are deep enough for a passport, so I was able to carry that, and my wallet/cash "up front" and behind a zipper, where they were more secure from pickpockets. Behind the slash pockets are more pockets with a velcro flap closure, then there are standard "pants pockets, and then slash pockets with no zipper in the back. All pockets are reasonably deep and easy to access. I carry a small Maxpedition "Gear Microwallet" daily, and it fits deep inside the back pocket, as does my Samsung Galaxy. And the fabric is heavy enough for a CRKT folding knife clipped in the front pocket. The fabric is not heavy, but it is not light. Very comfortable, and you can move well in the fit. I walked all over the place on a Mediterranean tour, and also all over Mexico. The pants were never uncomfortable or too hot. The one issue I have had (out of 4 pair, total) is a zipper that got stuck. My wallet was in that pocket, so I had no choice but to break the zipper.
