I bought this on a whim. It did a great job. Was it perfect? No, but got real close. I thought it did a great job. I did use the sandpaper that came with it and buffed the patent leather and then cleaned it with small cotton ball amounts of nail polish remover with acetone. Let that dry. Then applied the product. Remember to go slow and understand a little goes a long way. Just be patient. I let the first coat dry over night and then put a second layer on the next day and let that dry overnight before wearing the shoes. It did a great job. The 'leather' was completely worn off, and the underlying fabric was exposed-about the size of a quarter. I used a leather repair product first to fill in the damaged area.
