But I developed plantar fasciitis (inflammation in my right foot) and I simply could not run at all. Then I bought the New Balance Fresh Foam V4 More shoes and they are so wonderfully cushioned I could run again! I lost 42 pounds (and my goal was only 20 pounds). The V4’s are great but they’re not perfect. Enter the New Balance Fresh Foam V5 More shoes!! Heaven. They are even more cushioned and more comfortable than the V4’s. The “tongue” doesn’t bunch up or move to the side like the V4’s tongue tends to do while running. And finally, the fit is perfect…almost like a custom shoe…at least for my feet. I have never had a more cushioned and comfortable shoe in my life! Honestly, the V4 changed my life and the V5 made my life even better. I have no clue how accurate my smart-scale is regarding how healthy I have become but it says I shaved seven years off my metabolic age. I would take that claim with a grain of salt.
