I would say its good for any kid up to age 8 maybe - first or second grade. We bought this book after he asked if he could bring his bed with us to the new apartment and we realized that he didn't understand what was happening. It's not the most fascinating story but it has clear illustrations and made sense to my 2 1/2 year old. It's clearly British, which we liked (my spouse is Irish and lived in London for many years). The one thing I didn't like about it is that we live in New York City so we moved apartments and the book clearly talks about houses, but I'm not sure that was confusing or anything for my son.
