The faux leather feel looks nice and feels great. It's made very sturdy and cleanly. Even the interior lining feels velvety so that the screen won't be scratched. All the cutouts are accurate and in the right places, especially for the apple pencil. A apple pencil cap holder is also included for when you charge your pencil and don't know where to put the cap! The apple pencil fits into the slot like a glove, feels secure but not too tight. There is a hole behind the apple pencil so that it pops out easily, a feature that I think is pretty clever. I also am glad they included a magnet in the cover because I've received cases that didn't. The magnets allow the folded triangle to stand well. It is definitely not leather. It smells and feels like a cheap plastic. It’s very disappointing to have a case listed as genuine leather and receive a case that’s actually cheap plastic. Update: The seller sent me a new case because of the issues I had with the first case. This case has a gray cloth exterior. I have to say that I was surprised as to how much I like this case. The case fits perfectly and the cut outs are spot on. The magnets in the cover hold the case upright while viewing. Others that I have tried do not.
