The front pocket holds multiple lip balms, an Altoids tin that I keep meds in, hand sanitizer, Kleenex, etc. The upper pocket on the front panel is perfect for passport, cell phone, receipts, hotel keys, a thin paperback, and so forth. My cell phone (iPhone XR) will fit in it vertically, leaving half the pocket for other things. The large inside pocket has a great shape, with the bottom being about 2.5-3" deep. I just had a water bottle, a bottle of cough medicine, sunglasses, reading glasses, some candies, headband, ink pen, hand fan, and still have a bit more room. There a slots for credit cards/license, as well as a separate thin clutch that is attached by a clip and is removable, perfect for cards, cash, change, receipts, etc. There is also another zipper pocket inside. The large pocket on the outside back panel is also great, sized for cell phone, passport, etc. My only compliant with the bag is the zipper of this back pocket. I haven't had any trouble with it, but it seems it would be safer if the zipper had to pull up to open, rather than down. However, when I'm traveling in crowded areas, I put cell phone and passport in another pocket, and use the back pocket for Kleenex, lip balm, etc, just to be on the safe side. We travel extensively and this is by far the best travel purse I've used. I've taken it on 3 trips now. Construction is excellent, sturdy. It looks great, very classy. It's big enough for what I need, but small enough to take in crowded areas. The strap is wide enough that it stays where I put it for crossbody and I have not had any problem. I usually set it back towards my shoulder and it stays there. I do not overstuff the bag and really can forget that it is there. I love being able to adjust the strap for over the shoulder or even shorter for the elbow depending on what I am doing. I have other crossbody bags that did dig in and were constantly slipping off my shoulder when wearing them. This one hasn't been a problem and it is my second one purchased I got my newest one in the light color for summer, My other is black. Must be good when you want it again! **Q: Would this fit a standard (16.9 fl oz) plastic water bottle standing up and be able to be zipped closed?** A: No. But if u put the bottle at one of the bag standing up u could close the zipper up to the bottle cap. However - and this is just my observation only, if you have the extra large IPhone, the phone pocket will fit the phone without a plastic protector, but will not fit comfortably with a plastic protector on the phone. My solution was to keep the plastic protector and make a nice slide on cover from fabric remnants for the main purse pocket. I just toured DC with this purse for 4 days and found it extremely useful, in fact I loved it everywhere I went. It especially works great when you are moving through security checks which are performed in every single museum! You just open all the pockets, they take a quick look, and you're ready to move on.
