Installed, charged, operated as expected for 11 months. Now "charging at 0%" - laptop will not operate without charger attached. There is probably a reason Dell hasn't supplied factory batteries. Maybe it's time for a new laptop :-(

right battery for my laptop... video on youtube the xps 15z for help in taking it apart... a few screws, the side clip, a few more screws, a gift card to pop case off, and then a few more screws - batterys out, otherone fit perfect - just needed to be lined up with holes a little and back togethor - my laptop quit holding a charge previously battery is healthy again!

It did not work for me but I was able to get a refund.

I've got to be honest and say this has been one of my most pleasantly surprising purchases from Amazon in a while. I've tried to buy other replacement batteries for other PCs in the past, and never been very satisfied. I bought this one last October (2014), and 6 months later, I am still very happy. This is for the Dell XPS 15Z laptop. It's a little tricky compared to ordinary laptops to get this installed, but after watching some good videos on YouTube on how to do it, I was able to manage. It helps to have a set of small screwdrivers. I have a "jewelers set" that I used. I just put the laptop upside down on a towel on my kitchen counter (be sure to block your kitchen sink drains so no screws jump away and down the drain if you drop one), and I would say it took me 20 minutes start to finish to replace the battery. But it is still very solid at a half year of use.

help! i had our it staff install it on my personal laptop - worked for 1 day - today i got a message saying it won't charge b/c it is not compatible. am i going to have to buy a $$$$ dell battery?any suggestions appreciated.

I first contacted Dell for a replacement, but they said the battery for the 15z is no longer stocked. I was nervous getting non-OEM parts, but this was a pleasant first experience. The battery arrived well packaged, but with no instructions (as expected from other reviews).It was very easy to install thanks to a good youtube tutorial. Getting the laptop apart is perhaps the most difficult part - a kit of eyeglass screwdrivers is a big help. Once open, it is a simple matter of unscrewing, unplugging, plugging, and re-screwing. One of the battery tabs did not line up at all, but the rest were all a perfect fit.I had no BIOS or charging issues, and battery life is comparable to when the machine was new. I get about three hours editing photographs, more if I am just browsing. It was a very inexpensive way to breathe new life into an old laptop.

The battery fit and worked well for about one year now it will not charge at all at 0%. The light flashes orange. I purchased this battery May 19 of 2014.

Frankly, I was a little leery of ordering a non-Dell replacement battery for my Dell XPS 15z, but Dell didn't have them in stock and their pricing was exorbitant to say the least. This was a perfect fit... and an identical replacement for the old version. My notebook is now back to working like new... I'm very pleased.Note that the battery did not come with any instructions for installation. It's a fairly straightforward process, but has a lot of steps. If you search online, you'll find numerous videos and pictorial instructions that will guide you through the process.UPDATED 11/5/2014: My apologies for the typo in my original review... it should have said "...my notebook is NOW working like new." It's been 4 months since the original review, and the new battery is still working perfectly. I use my notebook for work, at least 8 hours per day.
