Waited to write the review until the fork was tried and tested. I ride this bike on different terrains: gravel/dirt/asphalt paths. I don't use as a MTB. I take it when I don't know what the trails are like where I'm going and I used it a lot after surgery for a brain tumor and I did not trust my balance on my Canondale road bike. I wanted to lighten up the big box 29er MTB (toss very heavy shock absorber fork) and did not want to spend a ton of money. I was sceptical because of price. It really lightened bike togehter with 42mm trail tires I bought. I trust this fork 100 percent, it looks great (black fork on black bike) and the bike roles much easier now. I am very pleqsed with my purchase. I could have installed myself had I had the right tools but I decided to take to my bike shop. They cut the stem down, installed all the necessary parts and did the change out for next to nothing. So for me that was the better way to go.
