I note, however, that these mugs describe themselves as 'fine china', and I would have said that was fair. They are relatively thick but nothing like earthenware, and are translucent. I still have a few relics of a Victorian tea service which really is fine and very thin and very translucent and this is nothing like. In the end I decided to buy them as I needed new mugs and they are absolutely perfect for me! They are not big mugs but that suits me, I don’t like huge mugs of coffee! They are not thin fine bone china but that’s ok too as they are really nice to drink from. The best bit, however, is the look of them! They are very stylish and different - they stand out! I like that they match as a set but each has a different design so that I can identify which is my tea/coffee when friends come round. The presentation box is beautiful so they would make an excellent present.
