I spent a little bit of time fishing the cable through the wall and to the exterior, plugged it in and was good to go.The product works exactly as described and has powered my doorbell just fine for several months now. I don't anticipate ever having to buy another but I would purchase again if I added another camera that needed the lower voltage.I would recommend this product to anyone who needs to add low voltage power and has an outlet conveniently placed out of sight. Replacing the power transformer, replacing the diode or bypassing the door chime did not fix the problemOut of frustration I ordered the power adapter - by passed the power transformer house wiring and diode - connected to the product - and voila works like a champ.
