They do not get hot and they are very reliable. We have not noticed an increase in our electric bill, which means that they are very efficient. It was 15 degrees last night and we did not worry as when we checked on the cat in the garage, the temperature was a pleasant 62 degrees and she was happy. We recommend theses heaters to anyone looking for a supplemental heater that rolls around easily.
