The water tastes good, keep the unit clean between uses to save time on a crusty bottom, yes the pot does get discoloured but this isn’t uncommon in distillers depending on how much crap is in your water to start with. We have a water softener so yes there is lots of crap in the water. The container that collects the distilled water is sturdy, I transfer water to a glass gallon jug and keep a minimum of 12 gallons of water on hand for drinking and cooking. The unit shuts off when it is empty then you use the reset button for your next use. what I like is the on and off switch that I didn’t have on the other unit so if you want to stop the unit before it is empty just switch it off without unplugging it.
