Long answer, in general, the range of this or any directional antenna is generally limited by several factors. First, you need a clear line of sight between the transmitting and receive antennas. Trees or other obstructions will greatly reduce the received signal strength. Second, the transmitted signal power much be strong enough so that by the time the signal arrives at the receiving antenna, it is able to overcome the propagation loss between the antennas, the losses inherent in the transmission line from the receiving antenna and the receiver, and the system thermal noise and the receiver's internal noise. Your network card is what goes into monitor mode. Kali never knows the antenna is there, so there's not really a question of compatibility from Kali to the antenna.
