Excellent commuter wheel, needs bluetooth control and gps tracking
It's an excellent entry level conversion kit. I've been riding around for one month and about 800 miles. Sure the range on one battery is good for short hops, but for my nearly 40 mile loop I needed to double my capacity. Geoorbital offered to upgrade my wheel battery, but in the end with a little advice from their team, I managed to build an external battery adapter that doubles my overall capacity. The wheel does rattle a bit, likely due to the springs, and the motor does cause a ton of drag in assist mode or powered off. My only request is that they have some sort of bluetooth software to adjust the assist mode to personal preference (within legal range). As for rain, I just recently had the bike rained on while at work. Fortunately I saw it comming and brought the batteties in, the everythjng else got a dose of rain. Once dry everything ran like normal.

I Have The Power!!!!!
I purchased my first GeoOrbital wheel about 5 yrs ago. I enjoy cycling but was always the slowest member in the group. Now I go as quickly or slowly as I like. I can use pedal assist or I can use the throttle to get through a busy intersection quickly. The GeoOrbital wheel replaced the front wheel on my Light Speed bicycle with very little effort. Now I have the best of both worlds, my personal road bike with Power. I have ridden over 40 miles on a charge before my power ran out. Fabulous wheel and even better customer service.Sharon D.

Ahead of its time
Purchased this wheel from an individual who bought it on kickstarter and never used it. I did not need another bicycle so this was perfect for me. Rode it on each of my 700c toad bikes, two steel, one carbon with no issues. Because of the set up you have to pedal to overcome the initial inertia but once moving the top speed of 20 mph is easily maintained. I tested range on a closed loop, with no pedal assist it managed 18 miles with still a little left on the battery. Commuted 12 miles each way with the wheel, recharged at work. Did not pedal on my way in to avoid getting sweaty, never had range anxiety. Battery does rattle, there is a video for a simple work around. The wheel is heavy, you will need to adjust to the bike being weight forward. Wheel does offer resistance, placing charge back in the battery on downhills, how much is difficult to determine. Currently use this as an around town alternative to the car riding a steel single speed bicycle. If you do purchase be aware the company while it appears to be in business may be on its last legs for reasons I cannot figure. This is a great alternative for those who just do not need another bike. 4 stars only because the company may vanish but no issues to date over the 5 year life span of the wheel.

Battery Replacment
I purchased a 700C model in July 2017 and another 700C model in March 2018. Today is July of 2022. Both wheels performed very well with only minor malfunctions. For example, a fuse needed to be replaced in one wheel's battery. I put over 7,000 miles on each wheel. I understand batteries will not last forever, which is why I have been trying to contact GeoOrbital for several months now, to purchase replacement batteries, but they will not respond.

Solid Wheel
I bought this wheel a few years back for my 15 year old son. I put it on a Trek FX Hybrid Bike. We live in a rural area with no school bus and we were about 15 miles from the closest school. My son used this as a daily commuter wheel so he wouldn't be too tired before morning weight training or after football practice. I bought an extra battery pack so he would be able to go to school and return home. Anyway, he put on about 30 miles a day for the entire football season and never once had any issues with losing charge or breaking down. He did say it was a little rough on certain roads but other than that it was fine. I even rode his bike with it on and it moved me (I'm 250lbs). As far as reliability goes, I have had zero issues. When my son turned 16, he got a driver license and hasn't used the wheel since. I think this is a great conversion wheel. I don't know what the long term reliability is but for the time we used it, we definitely put lots of miles on it.

Poor build quality, charged me to return a broken wheel after less than a week
This review is for the 700c wheel.Ride the thing once, started wobbling badly. Sent video and they told me it was normal. I mean, this thing was going to fall off it was wobbling so badly. I was concerned about the quality of the 700c wheel since it's a very thin profile, and being a rider over 200 lbs I wanted to make sure it could handle my weight as I rode. They charged me a $100 restock fee, even though it was broken. If I'd had it for a few weeks, maybe I'd have accepted a replacement, but I rode less than ten miles on paved bike trails. Pretty crappy.Onto the usability.Super easy to install, super easy to uninstall.Riding with the wheel, it's basically impossible to pedal and move the bike while not using the motor. I ride a light weight road bike that with little effort goes 10mph. Exert some effort and 16-18 is easy. With this wheel on, while not using the motor, I couldn't maintain a 6pmh pace as it is like pedaling in the highest gear but moving nowhere. While using the motor, it easily got up to 20mph, and would have gone around 30 miles with light pedaling and me weighing over 220.Overall, I don't recommend this, and am frustrated that my only options were either take a new wheel or lose $100 since this wheel wouldn't work out for me. Maybe the 26" wheel is better, but you literally cannot ride your bike without a massive amount of effort if your battery dies.
