Must be survival instinct to get off the ground. She dug in with her little claws and was laying on the top bed in no time. It quickly became her favorite place. I had to have those lethal claws trimmed and was concerned it would hinder her climbing but it only slowed her down a little. Assembly was fairly easy taking a little over a hour for one person. Instructions were also easy to follow and it is very sturdy. The scratching posts get used frequently and help keep her from damaging the furniture. It is a good height for 8 foot ceilings and can easily be moved. I don’t lift it but it slides easily doing no damage to floors. I think it would small for very large cats.
