The insole ca be removed. **Q: It says the platform of the boot is 0.75 inches, but it looks like the heel is taller than that. What part of the boot is the platform?** A: The full platform is that. They are flat boots. **Q: what size would these boots need to be baught at if I wear a guy size 10.5 ? And where can I find it?** A: You usually go 2 sizes up, I returned these. They were made in China and the quality was lacking. **Q: Are the Amherst boot waterproof?** A: Not sure. But we did ride n the rain and it kept my feet pretty dry. So I would probably say yes. Wore them with leggings to a doc appointment and received several compliments. I wear an 8 regular and they are true to size. No problems with width at all. Also, the boots make my feet look small, which is kinda cool. There are a couple of scuff marks on them, but I don't care about that. They are Harley boots and will be great for riding. It adds a little character but it sure doesn't take away from how nice they are. If someone wants them perfect all the time, use shoe polish or wear non-leather products. ;) Recommend these boots.
