Review: Seems to be working. - This is a really large jug of growth inhibitor chemicals that will probably last me several years since I am only spraying around a small pond about a half acre in size. About two to three weeks ago I mixed this with water and a surfectant and sprayed the very tall weeds and tree saplings growing around my pond. The directions on the bottle showed proportions, but I made it fairly weak because I didn't want to take a chance on harming the wildlife or aquatic critters out there. Even though this product says it is for aquatic applications, in the directions, it mentions that it can still be harmful. Without any further explanation on that, I decided to error on the side of caution. I laid down a good mist over everything, using 16 gallons of water total to about 8-10 ounces of Roundup. This should not have been sufficient to kill off the kind of weeds we have, and in fact, there didn't seem to be much dying off for a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, it did rain some the day after application - which it wasn't supposed to do - so the mixture was watered down even more than intended. I went back yesterday to check on the pond, and almost all the grass and weeds have turned brown. Some of the trees that keep trying to grow were still standing and green, so I mixed up a higher concentration and sprayed again, but only 8 gallons of water this time to about 8 ounces of Roundup and five ounces of surfectant. I gave the area a misting, not laying down as much liquid this time, and I'm hoping the stronger solution will get the hardier foliage. We are surrounded by acres of trees, and this will continue to be an ongoing issue, so if it works without evidence of harm to the living creatures out there, I will continue to use this. If I see issues, I will update this review to warn anyone else who wants to use this around water sources. Review: It's now Aqua Master - First note the name has changyro Aqua Master. I almost returned the bottle because I ordered RoundUp Custom, but the bottle that showed up is Aqua Master. Bayer has changed the name. It's the same product with the same EPA Registration number (which means it comes from the same spigot at the factory). It works well. You do need to add a surfactant and there are not a lot of those labeled for aquatic use. Does this get diluted by same amount as the concentrate? not in specs** A: I am not certain of the mix ratio for the concentrate, but this does come with a booklet explaining the mix ratios for different applications. I have been mixing 8 ounces of this product plus 4 ounces of additional surfactant (dish soap) then filling my 1 gallon sprayer with water. Within about 3 days even if it rains, everything starts to turn brown. **Q: Does anyone know if this is effective against duckweed? This stuff covers my pond every year!** A: i don't know about duck weed, I do know it kills anything I spray it on. double the mixture ratio and give it a try, I would be surprised if it didn't work. this stuff a few years ago was $220 for the same amount 2.5 gallons.
