I want to install these under by front soffit outside. They are very bright and the only color changing ones I've found that do not require a can to install them in. They work with the Hue hub and Alexa. I just haven't figured out how to install them up to code. The control block has terminal for a cord and I want to install them permanently without a cord. I need some kind of electrical box? Plus, with each light having its own interface, they can be individually controlled to create custom scenes. Setup and configuration with Hue bridge using ZigBee protocol was quick and easy. Occasionally one or two of the lights will not come on at the scheduled time, which I believe is due the distance between the lights and the hub. I plan on installing a repeater on the second floor to help boost the signal but, overall, I'm very happy with the product. One recommendation I would have for the vendor is to offer a Z-Wave option as well.08/04/21 Update: All of the lights installed in the eaves of my house are still going strong. My wife loves to create different scenes for each of the holidays and, with the Hue app, we can automate when the come on, turn off, or transition based on a schedule.I was so happy with how well these lights performed, I purchased four more and installed them in my office which I assume was the "formal living room" of the house originally. The room did not have any lights at all when we moved in so I've always had a couple of lamps. Lamps are no longer needed, so I can reclaim that floor space and real-estate on my desk. I have plans to install more of these lights in the eaves down either side of my house and along the back. They lost the ability to fully turn off.At the end of their lives as they were slowly dying, you could notice a faint blue light coming from the fixture, even when it claimed to be turned off. This was only noticeable in a completely dark room, but after a few days, it kept getting a little brighter.
