Watch the product video and it explains how to test any pair of sunglasses to see if they are polarized. I know for me I have overestimated the depth that polarized glasses can see into the water. I believe the main function is to eliminate glare and these do better than other P-Sunglasses than I have had. The product video also explains how each tint that they provide is better in certain light conditions. In AZ we have lots of light. Maybe an ever so slight tint but not enough to bother me. I have never liked tinted shades and these were good for me. That said, they may start to cause undue pressure after a while if the face is wide... The polarized lenses help reduce the glare coming off of other cars. These glasses are very light and comfortable. I have skin that is sensitive and easily gets red impressions when wearing glasses for extended periods. However, these glasses are so light and the nose pads are so comfortable that I can wear them a long time without issue. I do wish that the ear pieces felt a little more snug around my (admittedly small) head. I feel like if I used these for sports or physical activity, they might fly off my head. However, as I use them mostly for driving, they are great. The case is good, but a little large for these particular glasses. The glasses rattle around quite a bit in the case. However, the case is firm enough on the outside to keep the glasses protected, and soft enough on the inside to protect the lenses.
