It doesn't seem flimsy at all. **Q: Does it come with a case?** A: NO IT DOESN'T COME IN A CASE. BUT IT IS A VERY GOOD SCALE. **Q: If this has a lithium battery, you can't bring it on a plane with you. Am I correct?** A: Yes, you can bring it in the plane. A note: turn off the scale (hold down the on button) when you’re done weighing something. It doesn’t turn itself off and sucks up the battery. Great product. **Q: If the maximum capacity is 110 lb, how do I know the excess weight to be removed?** A: max weight for a checked bag should be no more than 50lbs over 51 - 70lbs they will charge you an overweight fee. 71 - 100lbs will be even more money but over 100lbs are not allowed. This is only within the U.S. For international flights over 70lbs is not allowed. When it arrived I tested it using my kitchen scale weights (the best way to know) and it always came up with low readings. I say readings because it was giving three or four different ones on these predictable weights and also on various bags full of stuff. Today I've just tried it again and it still varies a bit but was only marginally lower on the kitchen weights, or spot on!
