The snow and ice have been particularly hard for her this year. Even though she loves her walks, she was very resistant to going out in the cold. She acclimated to the boots within minutes and pranced her way out the door! She LOVES them!! I take the boots off and her feet are warm and dry, even after coming out of deep snow.I took one star away, because if you are not very careful, they can slip off. You *must* make the straps *very* tight. I do a slight tug on the boot to ensure it won't come off. We almost lost one the first time - I had to double back to find it. I think if they came a little higher on the leg, it would be easier to secure. Regardless, I am very happy with them and Didi is now fully enjoying her walks again. He HATES them, and on day one it took about an hour to get him to walk around in them. Now he hides under the table when it is time to put them on. However, I really like them. Last year, every time it snowed he would get ice formed in between the pads of his feet, which we then had to dig out. His paws were always red and sore. This has completely eliminated the problem. However, after a few wears, they are starting to truly stink. Hopefully I can find a way to wash them to get rid of the smell, but I'm not sure. They generally stay on well, but occasionally they will get turned around. Β These little boots are life savers I tell you, LIFE SAVERS. My fur child has sensitive paw and the coldness from the snow in addition to the salt on various sidewalks has him doing a balancing act between the front and hind paws. By the time he gets our front door he only wants in. This last storm we received well over a foot of snow and as much as he loves playing in it, he was quickly back at the front door ready to come in. I instantly went online and did the research. I compared more than several brands and finally choose this brand. As instructed I measured his front as well as his back paws. I watched him walk just to see how much his paws spread out when they are in movement. I took the extra measures to avoid the possibility of rubbing or blisters. No need to add additional problems. The boots arrived quickly, Thank you! But now it was time to put them on. I put the first one on. He instantly looks at me with his WTH expression. No worries folks, I'm used to the look. Next, I put on the second boot; he is not happy! Not because the boots are ill-fitted, because he has plenty of room with an excellent fit, but more to the fact, he's not sure what to do or how to walk. So now it's time for boot 3 and 4. Now he looks at me with the WTF expression. Oh yes, he has it. Which at this point he is frozen in place and will not move. I knew at this point I would have to gently coach him with his favorite ball to get him going. Overall it took a while but we made it out for our morning walk.
