**Q: When is the best time to sow this? I’m in North America**
A: Thank you for contacting Eden Brothers. We recommend planting wildflowers in the Fall or early Spring. If planting in the Fall, we recommend planting once you’ve had a hard-killing frost and when the weather is consistently cool and when the ground is almost frozen (but still workable) to eliminate any chance of germination.
If you’d like to plant in the Spring, Spring planting is best carried out within a month or so after the final frost of the winter season. The exact date will naturally vary based on your region and the severity of the winter season. The important thing is to not ‘jump the gun” and plant too early; if seeds are installed prior to a late-season frost, they will be lost for the season and will need to be reseeded.

Late Spring / early Summer planting is only advisable for cooler regions where temperatures are not hovering at or are above 80 degrees for long periods of time. If temperatures are already above 80 degrees and steady, we would advise against planting. When temps are already warm or hot, the direct sunlight can stress, harm, or wilt any seedlings trying to grow before they’ve had a chance to situate their roots. Flowers planted in the Spring have time to establish themselves and adapt to the weather warming up, allowing the flowers to be able to handle full sun exposure. Unfortunately, delicate seedlings cannot handle the heat from the sun when emerging. Additionally, this time of year is also an ideal environment for weeds to grow, which will choke out any flower trying to grow.

**Q: If i purchase these now (january) will there be less germination when planted in may? are there any specific storage instructions if purchased now?**
A: Hello there!
Thank you for your interest and inquiry with us here at Eden Brothers! Seeds can keep for sometime when giving the proper storage conditions, losing only about 5% viability per year. To store, you'll want to make sure that your seeds are in a sealed plastic bag and stored in a cool, dry, and dark location. If you have a basement, or cupboard or cabinet in the house, that will work just fine too. A place that is consistently cool with low humidity is what seeds need to last as long as possible.

**Q: Cold stratification**
A: Hello,

Thank you for your message to us at Eden Brothers. The All Perennial Wildflower mix does not require cold stratification in order to germinate.

For most temperate regions of the United States, spring planting is best carried out within a month or so after the final frost of the winter season. The exact date will naturally vary based on your region and the severity of the winter season. The important thing is to not ‘jump the gun” and plant too early; if seeds are installed prior to a late-season frost, they will be lost for the season and will need to be re-seeded.

Though it may seem unusual to plant flower seeds in fall, it is actually the preferred time of year for many seasoned wildflower gardeners. The main benefit: a jump-start in bloom the following spring! However, if you do decide to plant your seeds in the fall,
for the All Perennial Mix, a late summer or early fall planting is recommended, once temperatures have started to cool but with your first expected frost still a few weeks out.
