Can it produce 12 cups of coffee and hot water for tea without adding water for each?** A: It is a 12 cup coffee maker and that function is completely independent of the hot water system. The hot water for the tea is added into a separate area and that probably makes 3 cups of tea but I'm sure you can check on the specific capacity from the manufacturer. **Q: Are the water tanks stainless steel or plastic?** A: Not sure, but its quite likely the water tank for the hot water side is metal or partially metallic, because it has a heating element to keep it hot which is always metal. **Q: how hot is the hot water?** A: One answer says the hot water temp ranges from 195-204. I wish it were so. That temp would be perfect for French press or pour over coffee methods. Boiling water (212) is necessary for a proper cup of tea. I’ve currently recorded temps between 170-190. Not sufficient for my needs.
