The lower grits are great for quick removal of material when repairing damaged knives. However, the finer gritts are not great. The 3000 grit is more course than 2000 by quite some way. The plastic base does not compare to metal. This set is ok for repairs and sharpening tools, but is not capable of providing the perfect edge some people may desire.
