Mine is about 5' at the deepest, and was originally a swimming pool. I planted three pounds last summer, without a filter to boot, and this year I'm having to pull out huge bunches of hornwort that's filled almost 50% of my pond! You have to try really hard to kill this stuff. I do recommend weights of some kind to keep it underwater, which might help with the heat. **Q: Will it survive winters that dropto zero?** A: Yes, my hornwort overwinters really well in my pond. The surface stuff might freeze and might die but if it sinks (which mine does every fall and a portion lies underwater all year) then it'll be fine come spring. Hornwort is indigenous to areas that commonly have deep freezes. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of good Plants *by M***L on Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2021* The plants arrived in good condition and filled about 1/2 of the pond, and the fish seem to like having them.The plants were very clean and had no snails.I would recommend, however, that people only buy them for aquariums or ponds that get direct sunlight or lots of artificial light. They are not doing very well now after several months because the pond only gets partial sun. We will be moving them into the winter aquarium and see if they can be saved, and if so then that's where they will remain since they don't get the light they need outside. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars Bits and Pieces *by C***B on Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2022* Ordered two bags of this and while one held enough strands (5"+) to make some bundles the second bag was nothing but chopped up bits and pieces. Total rip-off. Yes, they may eventually grow longer but when I place them in the pond they simply disappear into the pump filter and clog everything up. A week after placing them in the pond there are maybe 25% of the pieces left.
