Review: Great for final proofing of sourdough bread dough - Great proofing basket for sourdough bread. This basket when thoroughly floured with rice flour is great for the final sourdough proofing. The rice flour, rubbed into the spaces between the coils of wood, prevents the dough from sticking and allows the shaped loaf of dough to come out easily for placement in a loaf pan for baking. The ridges of the coil make nice shapes in the dough too. I use the cloth cover to protect the floured basket as it isn't necessary to wash the basket between uses. In fact it is best to not get it wet. I like the oval.shaped loaf so I use this basket more than another banner on I have for round loaves.

Some of my best loaves ever as a result! It will take a bit more curing to keep it from sticking but that comes with time and use.

Great proofing basket for sourdough bread. This basket when thoroughly floured with rice flour is great for the final sourdough proofing.
