The patch kit was totally unnecessary. There was also no smell.Overall this is such a fun, super cute pool float! Definitely turned a few heads and people kept taking pics of/with it. People on the river like to compliment the cute donuts design, but i just like them for their nice simple design.Cons:I popped one on my car door handle trying to ill-advisedly force it in while inflated, another sprung a small hole after many river trips.
