Using a roller is going to make a mess, had a friend try that. It ended up as having to remove all the blown ceiling. Blown ceiling has a terrible bonding capability if wet at all. I have had some ceilings done in a commercial building and the painter used a fogging type sprayer with 2-3 coats, drying in between coats.
