Review: NICE, adventurous, yet elegant design, good for any occasion, a candidate for a "one watch collection"! The automatic versions of Vostok are a bit more than the straight hand-winders, but worth it for anyone with sausage fingers! You cannot overwind an automatic watch! I am a former fine-mechanics guy, but had a stroke, so get random jitters and cramps since then, so the "upgrade" from the 85 dollar versions to this one was well worth a little peace of mind :) Quirky, but good! To mention this right away - READ the instructions, before using it! I have known for a while, that the crown is wobbly (people toss the watch for this, thinking it is broken!), because the stem is a multi-link jointed construction, to protect the inner stem and calibre (aka clockwork) from rough operators and combat conditions, because it was designed for military use in shock-prone field conditions, and it does its job as intended! As such a workhorse with ability to take some abuse, it has other quirks, like the way you need to and can set the date, but that is all in the manual, so take a few minutes and actually read it! It is very LEGIBLE, which is most important! (and I learned to strongly dislike "skeleton" watches) This model is one of my most legible watches, and earned a spot in my "grab" selection as soon as I unpacked it. Vostok has many other very legible designs, and for me the yellow dial is tops (saw it after I already ordered this ocean blue dial), but may not appeal to people looking for a "one for all occasions" watch, because they stick out a bit. A great part of this legibility is thanks to the acrylic crystal, which has less reflections in the same conditions, than any of my sapphire and especially my very reflection prone "hardened glass" (like Seiko's "Hardlex") watches, despite their AR coating! Acrylic is prone to scratches, but they can be polished out easily with "Polywatch" or other acrylic polishing pastes. The upside is, if you put a bad scratch in this "crystal", you probably would have broken another watch's glass, meaning you came out OK, and just need 15 minutes for a polishing job. Vostok got me hooked with this watch! Vostok is an absolute anomaly amongst modern watchmakers. It is very unique, an absolute marvel, with an all original, in house everything construction and design, which is rare since the mechanical watch industry was wiped out by quartz 50 years ago, and turned into a luxury-fashion thing! I am turning 62 in 3 weeks, so I have been around the block, and always wore quartz since I was a teen, and I remember without any false sense of nostalgia, how sensitive and inaccurate mechanical watches were, until quartz changed everything for affordable watches! Ridiculously good value! If you do not want to risk more "exotic" sales channels, like a certain foreign warehouse shop (which I love and buy a lot from), then Invicta is pretty much the only other watchmaker, that offers mechanical watches below USD 200. I wish I would have tried a Vostok earlier, once I heard of them, instead of starting my new discovery of mechanical time keepers with another affordable legend (Invicta Pro Diver, and I do still like mine) after a long life in quartz! ACCURATE IT IS! Maybe I got lucky, but so far, this watch is running about 1 to 2 seconds fast per day, which is in quartz territory and totally awesome! DO NOT expect this from every sample though, as mechanical watches have greater variances, and Vostok officially rates this between -20 secs/day and + 60 secs/day. Even those numbers are still god for mechanical watches, as I am old enough to remember what affordable watches were like before quartz, when I was a little kid. If your el-cheapo stayed within 5 mins/day you were happy, no kidding, so this specification is satisfactory to me as an old geezer, who remembers the bad old days! Great stainless steel case! I am normally not a fan of polished cases, because the make finger prints visible to every cop in sight (I do NOT keep my daily catch inside of my trench coat!), but for reasons that are mysterious to me, this one does not show any, like magic! This does not mean we are dealing with cheap steel either, because I always manage to get a scratch on a new watch in the first day or two, which this one does not have ... yet? I also have allergies to cheap metal alloys, but this one causes no rash. I mean I really am a prissy guy when it comes to allergies, but my hands and arms are clear, which I LIKE! The bracelet is ... pretty, but difficult, the only not so cool thing about this watch. Vostok has 18mm lugs, and I was fresh out of bracelets, only having 20mm and 22mm in my box, but that turned out a good thing, because it forced me to just deal with this one tricky part of the watch package! The bracelet fits the polished case, with its very nice polish, but self declared watch aficionados always whine about formed sheet-metal links. That said, it is indeed difficult to get the pins out, and I was considering another, solid link bracelet. I finally got the pins pulled after a lot of fiddling, and it was worth the pain, because an observer will have a hard time telling this is not a solid chunk metal, but the polish is really beautiful, and also takes no finger-print smudges! Still, if you are not a fiddler, just get a NATO cloth-strap, leather, rubber, or a different and easier to size steel bracelet. Time will tell, how this marvel holds up, but so far I am VERY positively impressed. It looks like all the hoopla made by watch fanatics on the web about Vostok is well deserved, for a frugal person's dream of a rugged watch, that comes in nearly endless configurations, some as much fun with pop-colours as a Swatch, others as restrained and boringly elegant as a British Bentley automobile, and everything in between, but always recognisable as a Vostok. They do have their own design language, and I think I will get 1 or 2 more, especially one of the real 24 hour models with 24 hour dial and calibre, aka movement :)
Review: Watch are Costly..and belt is not good as per price .watch movement 24 hours in 10 minutes fast. This price sapphire glass not given .Overall ok. I were 1 year.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What mm watch bands work with this case?**
A: 18mm lug width watch bands.

**Q: Does this come with black/gold gift box? Yes or no, or instead does it come with white box? Thanks**
A: Mine came in a plain white box.

**Q: How do I get the factory band off of it? I purchased a leather band for the watch and would like to change it out with the factory band.**
A: The band is held in place with spring loaded pins. You will need a small tool to push the pin in. The pin has a small shoulder that you can get a bit of leverage on. Magnification helps. I use a jewelers visor.

**Q: Does this come with the original box and original papers?**
A: Yes, it comes in the original box with instruction papers in Russian.

Ürünüm kutusuz olarak gönderildi. Bu yüzden orijinalliğinden bile şüphe ettim. Normal beyaz bir kutuda gönderim yapılmış. Hoş değildi.
