However, this seller is clearly selling used / previously returned merchandise without adequately disclosing that these are NOT brand new chairs. Mine came in pieces thrown together in a box with no packing material, no instructions, no allen wrench to attach the back. The wheels were scuffed from having been previously used. And the one plastic cover piece that needs to be snapped into place has one of its corners broken / snapped off. Functionally, the chair is fine. But I would never have agreed to the price I paid if I had known I was purchasing a used / damaged chair. I got scammed. Buyer beware. Review: Ok yes, it's a $1300 chair, but I was desperate from serious lower back pain and I was willing to try anything. Perhaps it being so expensive made me think it must be THE best. Well.... I almost hate to say it but it must be. I've never been more comfortable (for long periods of time) in a chair than I am in this thing. I'm 6'1" 275 pounds. "Big guy". And it's super roomy and supportive. I'm at my computer for sometimes 12 hours a day writing code and in my other Serta chair which in all fairness was an executive chair (this being a 'task' chair) I was literally having to go for physical therapy after long weeks of work. It was awful. Within two weeks of having this chair I have had NO back pain. NONE! In fact I worked 12 hours in it yesterday and thought for sure I'd wake up in crazy pain this morning but instead I felt completely normal. Which is why I'm writing this review. The chair really is amazing. It sucks that the it's so expensive but looking back I don't have any regrets now that I can work as hard as I need to without suffering physical detriment after ever session. Finally, I will say that my only two gripes about the chair is that, 1. It has one squeak that kinda drives me crazy but it's probably because I'm seriously overweight. Even so, for this kind of money I would expect it to hold an elephant without squeaking. Just sayin. 2. The optional head-rest should not cost $180. C'mon guys. The chair? I get it. It's a lot of math to figure out how to support the (body) correctly but leaning my head back to rest for a minute can't possibly be rocket science. That's a bit of a price gouge in my opinion. Hope this helps someone considering going this route. I personally had anxiety about buying a chair this expensive without ever having sat in one but desperation won the day and I went for it. If I could repurchase I would go direct from Herman Miller. My chair came missing a wheel and I was super dissapointed. The chair arrived within a week. Amazone offered to ship a new replacement chair, however, the box weighs 50lbs and i need a friend to help me the first time so this was not a good solution. There is no savings purchasing direct do yourself a favor and buy with the original company **Q: Does this model have the tilt option that moves the seat up and forward for easier typing?** A: Yes, this model does have the forward tilt option. I did not realize how much I would use it until the first time I tried it out and fell in love with it. **Q: I am 6'1 and 315 lbs will this chair support me?** A: One of the most important dimensions to determine the appropriate chair for the user is the depth of the chairs seat pan compared to the length of the users thigh when sitting. There should be no more than 2-3 fingers width from the front of the chair to the back of the users leg behind the knee. Having the proper base under the user provides good posture and relieves pressure on the knees and legs from leaning forward to keep the user upright in the chair. I still have my original Aeron that's nearly 20 years old and still going strong. I wanted to upgrade a computer desk chair in another room, so I bought one of these redesigns. It hasn't disappointed! It's still a super comfortable chair for spending hours at a desk. The mesh has the right balance of support and springyness, and it's very adjustable for height, tilt, and armrest height and angle. Just like the original model, every aspect of the chair looks and feels like high quality construction that still stand the test of time. HM has done it again. One thing missing is the leather arms option they had on the old model.
