If you are looking to create high quality archival images, this is probably not for you. If you have slides you want to share digitally it will work very well. An added bonus was the ability to take images from View-Master reels. I would not call this a toy or a novelty item. It’s also not creating archival images. It works perfectly for what I needed. **Q: Does it work with medium format film negatives?** A: I was wondering the same thing.
